Booking & Attendance Info

When booking a private course, payment is required in full at the time of purchase. You can book for a specific date, or opt for a gift voucher if you'd prefer to choose a date later — perfect for surprises or flexible planning.

Need to reschedule? No problem — we just ask for at least 3 days’ notice to move your booking. (Much more flexible than our public courses, which require 4 weeks’ notice.)

For groups of 4 or more, you’ll notice the price per person works out lower than our public sessions — and the bigger the group, the better the discount. So it pays to bring friends!

What to wear:
Safety comes first, so all participants must follow our clothing and footwear guidelines: sturdy boots and sensible forge-appropriate clothing are a must. No open-toed shoes or flammable fabrics, please. Plastic melts! You can view our full clothing guide back on the made courses page, but if you have any questions about what to wear just get in touch.

Lunch & refreshments:
Courses run from 10am to 5pm (though sometimes we can run a little later), so you’ll need to bring a packed lunch or plan to grab something nearby — there’s a Greggs and a McDonald’s just a 2-minute walk from the workshop. We’ll keep you going with tea, coffee, biscuits and snacks throughout the day.

Age: As with all our courses, you must be 18 years old to forge sharp tools. To join our beginners blacksmithing course (or other art forging courses) you can be 11 and up! Those under 18 must have a parent or guardian on site with them throughout the day.

Important:
We have a zero-tolerance policy on intoxication. If we suspect anyone is under the influence of drugs or alcohol, they will not be allowed to take part and no refund will be issued. Safety in the forge is absolutely non-negotiable.
