Arc Welding for Beginners

Curious about welding but not sure where to start? This hands-on course is designed especially for complete beginners who want to learn the fundamentals of arc welding in a relaxed, supportive environment.

You’ll be taught by a qualified, coded welder with real-world experience, so you can feel confident you’re learning solid, practical skills that actually translate to the workshop.

Throughout the day, you’ll get to grips with:

  • Striking and maintaining an arc

  • Running clean weld beads

  • Joining steel safely and effectively

  • Setting up your welder correctly

  • Choosing the right electrodes

  • Understanding how different metals behave

With sessions limited to just 1–2 participants, you’ll benefit from plenty of one-to-one guidance and hands-on practice.

We can teach MMA (stick) welding and MIG/MAG welding, so you can spend the full day focused on one technique or do a morning on one type and an afternoon on the other!

  • Group size: Maximum 2 participants

  • Experience level: Complete beginners welcome

Pricing:

  • £380 per day, for up to 2 participants. 

What’s Included

All tools, materials, and safety equipment are provided.

If you already own a welding mask, we recommend bringing it along — it’s always best to learn with the kit you’ll be using at home. We can also source PPE for you would like help finding the right kit for you. 

Got your own welding machine? Let us know in advance and we can tailor parts of the session to help you get the best from your setup.

This includes our recommended PPE list to help you prepare for the day.

If you’d like us to supply equipment, we’re happy to help. We can order items such as welding helmets, respirators, gauntlets, consumables (cables, torches, rods, or spools), and even welding machines for you to collect when you attend your course.

Just let us know in advance and we’ll arrange everything for you.
